I just wanted to let you know of the safe arrival of Tucker Benjamin. He was born at 1.33 am Wednesday morning by emergency c section. Labour started at 3 am in the morning and I was in bed and then on the couch through it all.
It was amazing how I just breathed through it all and it really wasn't that bad! The midwife came to our house at 10.30 am to check how i was going, she did an internal exam and i was 6 cm dilated and all she could feel was a sac of fluid. She said we need to go to hospital because my water will break any second! We arrived at hospital at 11.30 am, I kept breathing through everything mostly on my hands and knees. I went to go in the shower and the midwife checked on the babys heart rate, it was really low. I had to go on the bed so they could try and get the heart rate up, nothing worked. All of a sudden there was alot of people in the room telling me this and that and next minute I'm rushing through the hospital just like in the movies. I was so calm and just in the zone, he came out and my husband announced he was a boy! They let me see him over the curtain and he peed on my face! The cord had been wrapped around his neck that's why the heart rate had slowed. I'm so greatful for hypnobirthing and the yoga classes. It taught me to be calm through everything and it worked. The midwife said they had never seen someone remain so calm and strong through it all. My husband was also amazing, he breathed with me, held my hand, massaged my back, was my spokesperson to the doctors and whispered encouragements the whole time. Thankyou. Alice |
