I was actually in labour for about 48 hours from my waters breaking to his birth and I felt very in control and calm for most of it, using the yoga and mediation techniques I had learnt during two 5 wk pregnancy yoga courses and meditation classes I did with Carrie at her awesome JoyMamma Studio.
I initially laboured at home for 2 nights and incorporated positive affirmations, yoga, music, hypnobirthing meditations, breathing techniques and the different movements/poses Carrie shared in her classes. Once I got to hospital, things just weren't moving along as we hoped and already being a week past my due date, we decided to go with an induction. 11 hours later Jack arrived! I was able to stay strong and maintain my endurance during my long-ish labour, and managed to achieve a pain relief free birth too. It was an incredible (although tiring haha) experience!! Thank you Carrie for giving me such valuable tools to navigate through pregnancy, prepare me for birth, and help me tap into the mental & physical strength I needed for my "marathon" labour....truly amazing xx Massive Gratitude & Lots of love to you from us xx Bec |
