Hi Carrie.
We wanted to send a quick email to let you know of the arrival of our beautiful baby boy Riley James! Riley was born Saturday 13th of April at 1:12 pm weighing 9 lb 5 and 52 cm. Labour was like nothing I anticipated. Induction was discussed with our midwife as we approached 41 weeks however with the knowledge we learnt through your course we were happy to hold off and give him a little more time (despite being so excited to meet him). Friday afternoon we went into labour and he was delivered the next day. Riley ended up needing some assistance to enter the world as his shoulder was stuck and after 2 hours of manoeuvring and pushing, doctors were starting to really get concerned for his well being so we ended up agreeing to a vacuum assisted delivery. In saying that however he is doing so well, the midwives even commented how calm he is despite how the end of our labour went. I'd like to send a massive thank you for all you passed onto us over the course. We spent the majority of labour in the water which was amazing and something we were adamant about, and Nathan was my absolute rock. He was my voice, and redirected me back to my breathing and focus to baby when things intensified. He was so amazing and we've since mentioned that techniques we discussed during your classes we certainly pulled from. We used light touch to no end, visualisation and we managed birth without analgesia, so feeling accomplished and proud of us all. We spent our first night at SCUH to monitor Rileys breathing but since are home and he's one very calm baby, feeding well and sleeping well. I'll attach some photos, we're a little (lot) smitten ;) So thank you so so much, will definitely be recommending your practice on to pregnant friends. Nathan and Katie |
