births

olly & summer born at sunshine coast university hospital, kawana 27 oct 2018

Hi Carrie,

Thank you so much for teaching us the magic of Hypnobirthing.  We both really really enjoyed ourselves and every class and we can’t speak highly enough of you personally or of Hypnobirthing.

At 31 weeks I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and spent a few nights in hospital.  I never worried or stressed, just kept calm and went with the flow.

At 33 weeks, the blood flow from the placenta to the cords began to be compromised, and they started steroids, and from this time, we had scans at the hospital at least 3 times a week.  When they initially told us and started the steroids, I was worried and did stress that day, but the next 2 days I focused and went back to calm and positive.

At 34 weeks and 5 days at our scan, things had progressed to the point that it wasn’t safe anymore for the babies, and we were told that we weren’t going home, and they were delivering the babies via emergency cesarean early the next morning.  We both kept calm and focused, and it was all really like a dream and not reality from this point until the birth.

Without Hypnobirthing, I don’t think I would have coped through this, and I know there is no way I would have been OK and been able to stay calm and focused.  It benefited us both so much. I had my head together and asked all of the questions and took in the answers, I remembered my “BRAINS”, and I wouldn’t have known any of the right things to ask without Hypnobirthing.

On Saturday last week, at 34 weeks and 6 days, we welcomed our 2 beautiful babies Olly and Summer into the world.  They needed no help to breathe, and only stayed in the humidi cribs for a few days.  They are now off all monitors and just have tubes for feeding, and are in a normal cot together.  We are still in the NICU, but hope to be out sometime in the next 2 weeks.

All the other babies that come in to our room (there’s 4 bays in the NICU rooms) cry a lot, some all night without stopping! Olly and Summer sleep through everyone’s crying! They are the calmest and chilled out happy little bubs.  They only make a little whimper for feeds and sometimes nappy changes, but apart from that they just eat sleep and lay there and look at each other!

They are just perfect and so chilled, and a lot of the midwives have commented on how good they are.  We feel so lucky and blessed, and I put it down to being so calm through my pregnancy, and to Hypnobirthing.

Thanks heaps Carrie
