Good afternoon Carrie! We would like to introduce you to Howie. After yoga I felt a bit of a trickle through the day but it was so small I didn't think about it - even went to the beach!
When Macca got home from work he said I should check with the hospital on it. After getting to Buderim and confirming that I had a hind leak waters break, they wanted to start me on anti biotics and induce me due to the fact I'd left it 24 hours haha. I was a bit scared to be induced but they started the drip off at midnight and by 4am I was in active labour. At 7 am I had managed contractions with all the HypnoBirthing techniques and had been doing well! Mclean was also doing acupressure and lots of light touch. At 730 am I was feeling a lot of pain and was seeking an epidural and whatever I could get to make it go away!!! I had an amazing midwife who suggested I should try gas and get in the shower (up until then I had been using fit ball, standing and leaning over the bed). When they did an exam ten mins later they found I was 8 cm and that she didn't think epi was needed at all! So I laboured in the shower with a bit of gas. Then when it came to pushing the Obstetrician on call had arrived (George Bogiatzis) and suggested no gas for pushing. So about 30 mins of pushing and we met our son! Seriously the most amazing experience and have so much of the HypnoBirthing techniques and your guidance to credit that too!!!! In the end all I had was a bit of gas despite being induced and hooked up to antibiotics as well. He also came out in such a calm happy state - didn't cry at all until we walked back to the bed. I'm also amazed I birthed a 9.3 pound baby!!!! Thanks Carrie Annabelle xx |
