Hi Carrie,
I wanted to thank you for the guidance and advice you provided to us throughout my pregnancy. We welcomed our baby girl into our arms on the 3rd June, she is absolutely divine and we are so in love! I know that she is safely with us because of the nourishment, love and trust I had in my body and my baby, something I want to thank you for teaching and encouraging me to do. I started pregnancy yoga with Carrie at around 20 weeks in the active yoga workshop and continued with pregnancy yoga classes almost weekly until my bub was born. My husband and I also attended the active birth class which I highly recommend - this gave us both the confidence and practical advice to be prepared for the birth. Carrie's yoga taught me the physical skills to give birth, strength yet calmness, but more profoundly taught me how to connect with my baby. I always enjoyed going to yoga and taking the time to appreciate my body & refocus my energy toward my baby. The classes empowered me and gave me the confidence and courage to trust myself as a mum. My baby was breech throughout my entire pregnancy and as much as I wished for a natural birth, a planned caesarean birth was discussed. I went into early labour at 37 weeks and ended up having an emergency c-section. The whole process was very quick and quite scary and emotional, this is where the breathing skills that you taught came into play. Although I didn't need this during surges (my contractions weren't yet painful) I used the ujjayi breathing through the epidural and to calm myself in the theatre which was pretty terrifying! I was constantly reminded by my hubby the breathing techniques and he was an amazing support. Thank you again Carrie! Looking forward to coming back to some postnatal yoga soon. Sam xx |
