I decided to go down the same path and use the hypnobirthing techniques I used in Alaya’s birth. I wanted to do another natural drug free and calm birth. We did hypnobirthing with Carrie Jeff from Joymamma. We used the birthing bath, light touch massage, calm music, breathing and I listened to the reassuring words Eli kept telling me.
Eli was such an incredible support, he made me feel safe, he calmed me down when my breathing would get too fast, he reassured me that I was ok and wouldn’t be long until we saw our boy. I could not have dreamed of a more supportive and loving person to be by my side. Ryder’s birth was very fast having the first contraction at 1am and by 5am I was pulling him from the water for his first cuddles. I decided to break my own waters as I could feel they were slowing things down. Annie the photographer said she has never seen the midwifes stand back so much which made us happy as my breathing technique and Eli’s support were obviously working well together. I decided I wanted to capture every moment as Ryder would be my last birth and Annie from Adore You Photography was simply wonderful! She captured images that I will cherish for a lifetime to come. Hypnobirthing and calm pregnancy yoga defiantly gave me the tools I needed to stay as calm as possible and have 2 happy and positive birthing experiences. Kara |
