breech turnBetween 32 and 36 weeks a baby turns from the upright position it has spent the majority of its time in, to a head down (vertex) position. Most of the time this occurs without the mother noticing. However, for a small proportion of babies (around 5%) they will not turn.
The reason for the vast majority of breech babies is fear and tension in the mothers’ bodies, causing a tightening of pelvic floor muscles which restricts space for your baby to turn. A hypnosis session is relaxing for Mum, allowing the uterine muscles to relax and the baby more freedom and space to move around. It also allows Mum to connect and communicate with her baby in the womb. You will be helped with fear release therapy which is an integral part of our session. Anxious Mums learn to let go of fears concerning their pregnancy, birthing, and parenting. A study has shown that 81% of babies changed to the vertex when hypnosis was used, against only 48% of babies whose mothers did not receive hypnosis. Hypnosis is most effective done in a private, in person session. This method works well in combination with the pelvic tilt exercises that I will also show you during the session. I also can provide you with resources and referrals for other holistic ideas to help you. For some babies there may be a physical underlying reason why they wish to remain breech and we should trust and accept this. |
