Prenatal Yoga for all stages of Pregnancy
From the moment a woman falls pregnant, her body, mind and soul embark on a massive journey and she is forever changed.
During this in-depth training, you will learn how to adapt and modify poses for certain pregnancy conditions and safely guide women through each stage of pregnancy. You will learn how Yoga can help ease pregnancy discomforts, release tension and reduce anxiety.
The ancient practices of yoga, meditation and pranayama are known to build physical and mental stamina and endurance and cultivate confidence and trust. When practiced during pregnancy, women can apply this learning not only to their ability to birth their babies, but to also help them become intuitive mothers, trusting in the innate wisdom that all women are born with.
You will learn how yoga and meditation can create a state of mind that has been linked with easier pregnancies, more comfortable birthing - and a calmer baby.
"By practicing meditation, a woman can learn to choose to create a state of consciousness that is associated with a quicker and less painful labour and birth. Women who meditate in pregnancy have reported easy birth experiences, often painless and often ecstatic. When birth is approached from a place of inner calm and trust, it can unfold in its natural way and be a positive initiation into motherhood." Ten Moons - Jane Hardwicke Collings
Do you want to have the confidence to nurture a pregnant woman as her body and mind go through these massive changes?
Yoga for Birth Classes & Active Birth Workshops
Birth skills from a birth doula will enrich your classes and set you apart from other Yoga Teachers.
Learn from a Lead Trainer who is also a Birth Doula and HypnoBirthing Educator
Combining experienced reliable doula knowledge with hands on skills, this training will help you create nourishing and informative Yoga for Birth classes to women as they approach birth. You will get to explore positions that can assist baby to get into an optimal position for birthing. Focusing on the hips and pelvis there are many yoga poses that help with a baby's descent, rotation and journey into the world. You will learn that by teaching these skills to women, their own power increases tremendously enabling them to approach birth with confidence in themselves. Rather than seeking assistance from their external environment, yoga helps women to move deeper towards their inner environment, which is where they will find their true strength.
Working with the 5 koshas and other elements of the subtle body (chakras) this approach to a yoga practice can fulfill many more desires than just physical. As a woman approaches birth, journeying through her innermost layers prepares her for the depths she must reach to meet her baby.
You will learn how to create Active Birth workshops for couples to attend together. Using birth balls, massage, rebozo techniques, these are fun and rewarding sessions for you as a teacher, where you can pass on your knowledge to partners, ensuring women have the best support possible.

"When I created my Yoga for Birth program; it was for one woman who would come to my home 8 years ago. After I'd got my 3 kids off to school.I would clear away the dining table and put yoga mats down. Not long after, a few more women joined us, I invested in some more yoga props and we then progressed to the garage space. I then had a business that was starting to evolve. During those early years I was able to run classes around my kids' busy lives, and as a FIFO wife, being able to create my own schedule gave me a great little part time job without too much disruption to managing the rest of life with a busy young family.
I really had no idea how big it would become.
Moving forward eight years - my experience has taught me how much women need the practice of Yoga during this time. I now have a thriving business and yoga studio that is not only professionally enriching - but on a personal level it is the most rewarding career I've ever had. Classes continue to fill, great birth stories keep coming and I see the wonderful growth of friendships that continue to flourish after babies have been born. The time has now come for me to share all that I've learnt - from each woman who has shown me something new, from the thousands of classes I've taught and the births I've attended - and now offer it to you in this in-depth Pre & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training.
As I have held space and nurtured the pregnant women who have come into my life, my personal commitment to you (if you choose to come on this journey with me) is that I will support and guide you to deepen your knowledge, build your confidence and enhance your unique teaching style - and to also awaken your own personal growth and development."
