Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training
Train to safely support women through pregnancy, birth preparation and early motherhood
|
This training is designed to build real-world teaching skills through a combination of structured learning, practical application and guided support.
You’ll learn not just what to teach, but how to make safe, informed decisions when working with pregnant women. Led by experienced teacher trainer and birth doula Carrie Jeff, this training is grounded in safety, lived experience, and professional responsibility. Joymamma’s training is comprehensive and in-depth, with intentionally small student numbers to allow for individual feedback, meaningful learning and direct support as you progress. You can begin with the 60-hour training and continue into the 85-hour certification if and when you feel ready. |

Why This Training Is Different
|
Many prenatal yoga trainings focus either on theory or short in-person experiences. Students often finish with knowledge, but feel unsure when it comes to teaching real pregnant women. Others are immersive and engaging, but don’t always translate easily into real classes afterwards.
This training is designed to sit somewhere in between. Each lesson follows a clear process. You’ll understand the concepts, experience the teaching through guided instruction, practise the work yourself and reflect through written assignments. This allows your knowledge to build gradually - not just as information, but as something you can apply. For those who choose to continue, live mentored teaching practice takes place after the foundational lessons have been completed. |
How the Training Works
This training is designed as a flexible pathway with two options, depending on how you wish to apply your learning.
60-Hour Prenatal Yoga Training
Professional Development Pathway
$695 AUD
You’ll move through 12 structured online lessons, each including:
You’ll receive personalised feedback to support your learning and integration. For qualified yoga teachers, this provides a complete foundation to begin teaching prenatal yoga safely and confidently.
On completion, you’ll receive a 60-hour Prenatal Yoga Training Certificate and a clear, confident understanding of how to support women safely through pregnancy.
This pathway is also suitable for birth professionals, experienced practitioners, or those exploring this work before committing to a full teaching pathway. It offers a deeper understanding of pregnancy, movement and nervous system support, which can be integrated into your existing work.
Please note, this training does not qualify you to teach prenatal yoga classes professionally without a 200-hour yoga teacher training.
- key concepts and guidance
- guided teaching and demonstration (video or audio)

What Graduates Say
This was the best online course I've done, I learnt a lot with a really great teacher who was very approachable and helpful. I look forward to being able to create a space that I can offer this to women.
Mel - Yoga Teacher
Even though I had done prenatal yoga training before and I had a good basic understanding, I still felt like there were gaps in my knowledge. I'm incredibly grateful for your guidance and support. My passion for teaching pregnant women has been reignited and I now feel so much more confident to teach.
Bec - Prenatal Yoga Teacher
Joymamma's Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training was incredible. I am as bold to say it is the best YTT I have done. Since the training I feel completely confident and assured to teach pregnancy yoga and to modify poses in order to best suit pregnant students.
Carly - Yoga Teacher & Birth Worker
Your course was so well rounded and educational, with something for everyone including for professional development for birth workers. I had no prior yoga teaching experience - I’m now teaching active birth classes at work which I never would have had the confidence to before.
Bec - Midwife
Whilst I knew I had confidence with anatomy etc it was daunting to not have the yoga teacher training behind me. Thank you for creating such a safe sacred space to learn.
Eloise - Midwife & HypnoBirthing Educator

A Personal Note from Your Trainer
Pregnancy, birth and early motherhood are profound transitions and guiding women through this time is deeply meaningful work.
I created this training after years of teaching, supporting births and mentoring teachers, to ensure that those stepping into this field feel prepared, confident and supported, not just certified.
If you feel called to work with pregnant and postnatal women, I would be honoured to guide you as you grow into a knowledgeable, safe and trusted Prenatal Yoga Teacher.
